This series was inspired by the time I spent in Paris as a student studying visual art, film, and French literature. Although I was not fully out yet, I have many memories of that time that stayed with me and my attraction to women was beginning to emerge. Paris was also the first place where I was often mistaken for a man. At first this surprised me but now that I identify as genderqueer it makes perfect sense to me. This series is an exploration of that time, my blossoming sexuality, and the beginning of my journey around gender identity. This is an ongoing series.
